Media Release: National Child Care Conference Honours outstanding Individuals, Launches New Resources
to Enhance Child Care Quality

 (Ottawa, Canada – June 19, 2007) On June 15-17, some 670 delegates from across Canada came together for a national child care conference in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Child care practitioners working in centres, family child care, preschools and after-school programs heard from national and international experts on early childhood development attended workshops and exchanged ideas to enhance the quality of their everyday work with children and families across Canada.

The successful conference, Set Sail for Quality on an Ocean of Caring, co-hosted by the Canadian Child Care Federation and its Nova Scotia partners – the Certification Council of Early Childhood Educators of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Child Care Association and Child Care Connections NS – was an occasion to celebrate CCCF’s 20th anniversary, launch new products and honour outstanding individuals working on behalf of children. The Canadian Child Care Federation is recognized as the largest pan-Canadian child care organization based on its Reach, Relationships, Resources and Reputation. Over the years, the CCCF has adopted various strategies in order to function within the changing dynamics of the child care sector.
